This handmade dagger, called a koumiya, is from southern Morocco. Made in the 20th century, it is 17" long and has a steel blade with a finely engraved sheath. The handle is wood with tribal silver inlay. Koumiya, such as this one, were worn by Berber men on their left sides, hanging from a braided cord over their right shoulders.
