Circular Drum (Deff)

This circular drum traditionally called deff or tara in Arabic and allun in Berber is played all over Morocco during special occasions. Its all handmade from wood covered with sheepskin on one side. Nicely decorated, its wooden frame has an opening in its side for the thumb for easy holding with the left or right hand. It measures 15" in diameter.
